Portfolio of Works
Beneath The Surface
Exploring the tension between concealment and revelation, layers fracture, separate and recede, exposing glimpses of what lies within. Built through texture mediums, textiles, mesh and acrylic, the works embrace surfaces that are weathered, disrupted and imperfect. Forms emerge gradually—sometimes vulnerable, sometimes resilient—as though they have always existed beneath the surface, waiting to be discovered.
States of Becoming
These works explore moments of transition—when forms shift, boundaries dissolve and something new begins to emerge. Through layered textures, fractured surfaces and passages of movement, Rebecca Horne considers transformation not as a finished state, but as an unfolding process. The works suggest release, possibility and the quiet tension between what has been and what is still becoming.
Unearthed
Unearthed explores the beauty of what lies beneath. Layered surfaces, fissures, embedded forms and weathered textures suggest fragments of something once concealed—artifacts, geological formations, memories or traces of another time.
Rather than beginning with a predetermined image, Rebecca Horne builds and cultivates each surface, allowing materials and texture to guide the work as it develops. Forms emerge, disappear and reveal themselves through the process.
The resulting works invite discovery: something worn, buried or altered can still possess unexpected beauty.
Surfaces & Revelations
Through layers of texture, textiles, architectural mesh and acrylic, Rebecca Horne builds, obscures and excavates each surface, allowing fragments to emerge as if carrying histories of their own. These works embrace erosion, resilience and the unexpected beauty revealed through time and transformation.
