Awakening the Light Workers

Creating Awakening the Light Workers was such a joy and a challenge.  Lately I've been incorporating crystals, agates and other stones into my art.  I saw the one in this piece and fell in love with the tranquil colors of white, gray, cream, gold and gray blue.  Wanting the stone to stand out but also appear like it's right a home and has always been there was very tricky.  Also, I wanted the texture surrounding it to look organic but ethereal and graceful in a way.  There are four different texture mediums included.  I textured the surface first and then when it was dry, I painted it with colors that would blend in with the stone.  The end result felt very spiritual to me and that's how I came up with the name.
